truss roofing

step 1,before erecting the trusses check that the top plates are flat plumb and secure we set our wall plates on desks aranged around the classroom and fixed the plate to the desks.

step 2,we grabed all the trusses from outside brand them into the class room and set one standard truss at one end and another at the other end put a nail on the apex of both and run a string line the whole way through setting up and fixing each indirvidual truss one be one keeping them plumb on the string line fixining with a triple L grip.

step 3,then we fully braced the the main roof useing a speed brace fix with 30x2.8mm galv reinforced head nails.

step 4, then we fix our truncated girder trusses in place keeping them straight with a sring line then we grabbed the jack trusses and creepers and fixed to bothsides.

step 5, the we screwed facia clips all the way around the roof keeping them at the same height with a string line then we fixed facia.

step 6, we batternd the whole roof with 70x35 pine then its finished.

lasssst day (12/12/08)
today we came to tafe did a large assesment on the health and saftey booklet then we did a large amount of computer work then it was nok off goodbyeee.
day 9(11/12/08)
today we started the morning with the big maths test wich i completed by smoko time and i got a pass u beauty. then we did a workbooklet on health and saftey nd that was it.

2 put alcor on the external and internal corners

3 place your pre cut pieces of timber on the external and internal corners and screw

4mark the pieces of timber for cladding allowing 25mm over hang.


Then place your boards on making sure that they are dead level

Don’t screw your hand with the screws


Could stab your self with a pencil



Don’t drop the level on your toe




Be gentle when handling the paper


Keep hand well away when cutting


Keep hand away from screws



Be careful when using a sharp pencil

day 8 (10/12/08)

today we started in the workshop were we had a big cleanup around were we had hung our doors the went to the class room to do some revision on the cladding exercise book becaise we had a test that afternoon after lunch we got crakin on our tests nd finshed before arvo smoko after that we had some more study time for the big calcs test that we wil hav tomoro morning.

to spent most of my time in the classroom studying for the calculations test wich i posted on my blog then did some saftey sheets wich are also on my blog. then we did the calcs test then we went to the workshop were the people were hanging door but i had already finished my door last week so i went to the libary to do some more computer work.
